Following enrolment, and generally about six weeks before the due date, Cell Care will dispatch either a Cord Blood collection kit or a Cord Blood + Tissue collection kit direct to your home. You simply bring the kit with you to hospital so it’s available in the birthing suite.
The collection kit has everything that’s needed for the collection, including a purpose-designed insulated courier pack containing temperature stabilisers to ensure that the cells are transported at the required temperature. The pack includes a data-logger which monitors the temperature of the Cord Blood or Cord Blood + Tissue and keeps a detailed log of transport temperatures.
