The first thing to decide is whether you wish to store Cord Blood or Cord Blood + Tissue. The factors to take into account in making this decision are set out on this website. Please note that you cannot store Cord Tissue alone ‐ you must choose either Cord Blood or Cord Blood + Tissue.
Once you have made this decision you then need to determine which payment plan best suits your circumstances. Cell Care offers 2 basic payment plans – Annual Storage Plans and Prepaid Storage Plans.
Annual Storage Plans
With Annual Storage Plans, you are required to pay a Processing Fee for the collection kit, transport, processing and testing. This fee comprises a deposit with the balance payable two weeks after birth or by 12 monthly payments, the first payment commencing within 2 weeks of birth. You may elect to pay the complete processing fee on enrolment if you so wish.
Ongoing storage is then paid annually for as long as you wish and without commitment. The Annual Storage Fee, adjusted for CPI, covers one year of cryogenic storage. The first payment is payable 3 months after birth, and thereafter payable annually for as long as you (or your child when they reach 18 years) want to continue storage.
Annual Storage Plans are ideal for those who wish to minimise their initial financial commitment. If you opt for an Annual Storage Plan and at a later stage wish to change to a Prepaid Storage Plan, Cell Care will be happy to discuss either 18 or 25 years prepaid storage options at that time.
Prepaid Storage Plans
With Prepaid Storage Plans, all fees (collection kit, transport, processing, testing and storage) are combined. You choose whether you would like to prepay storage for 18 or 25 years. There is nothing more to pay until the expiry of the prepaid period.
There is a deposit with the balance payable two weeks after birth or by 12 or 24 monthly payments, the first payment commencing within 2 weeks of birth. You may elect to pay the complete processing fee on enrolment if you so wish.
There are no fees or charges for retrieving cells for treatment inside Australia.
If you're a repeat client at Cell Care
As a repeat client, you are entitled to a $200 discount if you are storing Cord Blood or a $400 discount if you choose to store Cord Blood + Tissue.
If you’re having more than one baby
If you're having twins, a discount of $200 applies for each baby when you are storing Cord Blood. If you are storing Cord Blood + Tissue, a discount of $400 applies for each baby.

Having your baby in a public hospital, or if your obstetrician won’t be performing the collection
For most patients in a private hospital, their obstetricians will carry out the collection. However, if you are having your baby in a public hospital, or for some other reason your doctor is unable to carry out the collection, you are able to arrange for one of Cell Care’s trained collectors to attend the birth and carry out the collection of your baby’s cord blood. This service is available 24/7 and costs $275 (or $25 per month if added to the monthly payment plan) for cord blood collection or $325 (or $30 per month if added to the monthly payment plan) for Cord Blood + Tissue collection.
Live outside the main cities?
Cell Care is pleased to provide cord blood collection throughout Australia. There are no additional charges if you live outside the major cities.
